Cantorial Residency

A cantorial soloist since 1981, Robyn Helzner leads congregations in spirited Shabbat and holiday observances. She officiated at the first Bar Mitzvah in Beijing, China and served as High Holiday cantor with the United Jewish Congregation of Hong Kong. Her davening is heartfelt and participatory.
Artist-In-Residence weekends allow congregations to enjoy Robyns talents as cantorial soloist, concert performer, and music educator. The weekend includes a special concert with The Robyn Helzner Trio for adults and/or children.
Robyn currently serves as Cantorial Soloist at Temple Sinai in Washington, DC.
"It is Shabbat. The music is flowing. I remember certain tunes from Robyn’s visits and confess to a slight shiver when I play them in my head. The nigun Le-cha Do-di is sung to many melodies, but listen carefully as Robyn’s voice rises to deliver lik-rat ka-la in a welcome as sweet as any Sabbath Bride has ever received."
